This Blog is for entries and updates to be made by the following Grad Students: Kara Arend, Jahmal Brown, and Stephen Stein (Kara, please add a photo. Jahmal and Stephen, you can select alternate photos if you would like:-).
Jahmal Brown
Stephen Stein
As each of you moves closer to completing your graduate project or thesis, I would like you to post information about your progress on this blog. In addition, I will set up a page for each of you on Canvas. You can use the Canvas pages to post links to your timeline, portions of your projects or thesis that you are currently working on or have revised.
This blog should be a site for you to reflect upon the work that you are doing - share if you are having difficulty with any part of the process - e.g., Stephen, if you have questions or issues dealing with getting HSRB approval, finding subjects to interview. Jahmal, if you run into difficulties making time while you are in a new job. Kara, if you are finding it difficult to say 'no' to other faculty members who want you to work for them:-)
To begin, please write a brief entry about your project or thesis, addressing the following:
1. What is the research question or topic you are addressing? Is it a project or thesis?
2. When do you hope to finish?
3. What do you hope to accomplish this semester?
4. What is the most difficult obstacle you are facing in completing your project or thesis?
5. How can others in this group help you to address the obstacles you are facing?
6. What documents have you posted on your Canvas page most recently?
7. Would you like feedback on anything in particular (e.g., something you have posted on Canvas)?
8. Anything else?
Please try to post an entry at least once per week - if possible, no later than Monday. Throughout the week, it would be good to post comments for one another - encouraging each other. If you find readings and/or have ideas that might be of interest to each other, you could post those as well.
Please let me know when you have posted your blog entries (nspencr@bgsu.edu) This will not be graded, but it can be helpful in keeping one another accountable - and helping me to know where each of you are, and what obstacles you are facing.
Thanks,
Dr. Spencer
